Correction: Patient–Patient Transmission of Hepatitis B

The article "Patient–Patient Transmission of Hepatitis B During Oral Surgery," which was published online on May 10, 2007, contained an error in the introduction. The first paragraph of the story, in its entirety, should read as follows (revised term highlighted for emphasis):

"Some patients with acute hepatitis B do not report one of the usual behavioral risks for infection. Diligent investigation into one such case has resulted in the first known instance of patient–patient transmission of HBV within a U.S. dental setting."

We apologize for the error.
