In nov 1995 I had a st jude valve replacement. To this day it works to perfection. I have been on comuden simnce I got the vaule. Thank you for giving me new life

st jude vavle/anticoag/status post surg

82 y/o female, pacemaker, st jude valve, CVA r hemi with dysphagia, coumadin per S.S. All this occured 3/93. D/C'd coumadin 5 days prior to surgery. We are approaching 8 days off Coumadin. Currently on Epidural pain mgmt for Nephrectomy. 3 days post op. Doing well. Is it safe to put patient on Lovenox until no post op bleeding is documented then start on coumadin? Is Lovenox safe with mechanical valve?
